     Welcome - I am Bob Grotto, the President of Minox-Elcan Industries.  I've never done a blog before but I'm used to talking a lot so this may go easy.  Anything regarding screening is game for discussion.  Good jokes are always welcomed and encouraged.

       Minox-Elcan is the technology leader in the field of screening.  We do jobs that no one else can.  Our machinery is the best available and we have worked extremely hard to maximize  the performance of these machines.  Our technicians strive to find solutions to previously unscreenable materials.  We are pretty good at what we do and look forward to your challenges.  I hope we can solve your screening problems. 

       Let's first understand what screening is.  You have a hole that is this big <.  Anything smaller than this hole will pass through and be an under.  Anything bigger can't pass through and will be an over.  The exception is high aspect ratio pieces.  That's about it!  The rest is hot air made up to mask inefficient screener's inabilities.

       Probably the biggest problem in screening is blinding.  This is where a particle or particles get clogged in the screen hole and stays stuck there.  This kills throughputs and efficiencies.  If you have this problem, your screener needs to be sent to the junk pile out back.  It is killing your bottom line.  Think of how much money is spent to make your product just to get it to that screener and then when it gets there, your screener sends it back to the start because the small particle couldn't pass through a blinded screen and become good product.  I don't know about you but that would really burn my derriere.
